Computer does not recognize my Sonim XP7 via USB Cable?

Possible causes for this issue:

  •  Malfunctioning USB cable
  •  USB port of your computer might be faulty
  •  Device software malfunction

Troubleshooting:

  •  Disconnect USB cable from computer and your device.
  •  Restart both your computer and your device.
  •  After your computer boot-up, connect XP7 through USB cable to your computer. If your computer has more than one USB port, try connecting to different USB port. 
  •  Drag down notification bar from top of your phone screen and select Media device (MTP) and make sure get Auto Play pop-up on your computer screen.
  •  Make sure your device driver is successfully installed. If it shows driver installation failed, Uncheck MTP. CD Drive USB Driver pops up on your computer screen. Click on Open folder and view files > Double click Setup.exe to install driver.
  •  Remove USB and reinsert it again. 
  •  If issue persists, restore the device back to Factory settings.
  •  If issue reoccurs, contact Sonim support.

Problem turning on or charging your XP7?

      Possible causes for this issue:

  • Fault with charger
  • Power button is not working
  • Physical damage to the phone
  • Device was not charged
Troubleshooting:
  • Make sure you charge the device for at least 5 to 7 hours
  • Charge the device using only genuine Sonim charger, wall adapter or car charger. Using 3rd party chargers might damage phone’s battery.
  • Completely depleted battery can take up to 30 minute to charge and to show charge indication on screen.
  • Press and hold power key for at least 10 to 15 seconds to turn on your Sonim.
  • Check whether phone’s outer case is heating up, this might be an issue with the battery of your phone.
  • Make sure the magnetic charging connectors are not damaged and if there is any dust or Lint, clean the bottom charging pins with a dry cloth.
  • If problem persists, try to use a different charging cable and wall adapter. If alternate charger does not work. Try to master clear the device by hardware keys. Press power and Upper volume key for at least 25 seconds and release and release the keys. Select ‘’Reboot System now’’.
  • If Android recovery did not work, please contact Sonim support for more assistance.
