Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) lets you update your mobile phone's software over the wireless network rather than having to visit a store or service centre. When upgrading your software, please do so with a good charge battery and do not turn off your phone. Interrupting the update can damage the phone.  

Pre-Condition and Battery Requirement: 

Active internet connection (Mobile date or WiFi) required for FOTA update.
Ensure the battery is charged for at least 40% before starting the upgrade process. If battery is low, customer may get a notification "This device has insufficient battery charge to proceed with installation".

Checking for FOTA update and downloading:
Main menu >> settings >> about phone >> select system updates >>  it will start checking for update >> it will display the updated SW if available >> tap on Download and Install

Installation and verification:

Downloading will start >> downloading progress can be seen in progress bar >> once downloading completes. it will ask for final approval >> checked the “Do you want to proceed?” and select Agree >> it will start the installation and progress can be seen in progress bar >> successfully downloaded and installed >> verify the latest sw version.

Note:

• Upgrading the FOTA software to latest version will increase the device’s  performance.
• FOTA upgrade process will not erase any personal data including customer contacts.
• Known Bell issues have been fixed in MR1 and recommend for FOTA update.
• Verify the software version after FOTA update.
