Follow these steps to create a Portable WLAN hotspot

• Go to Settings > More... > Tethering & portable hotspot.
• Tap Portable WLAN hotspot > Setup WLAN hotspot
• Key in Network name, Security type a password and tap Save.
• Toggle Portable WLAN hotspot on top right corner to enable Hotspot.

You can help secure your XP8 by setting a screen lock with your Fingerprint recognition. Each time you turn on your device or wake up the screen, you’ll be asked to unlock your device, usually with a PIN, pattern, or password, you can now  unlock with your fingerprint.

Follow the steps to add Fingerprint to unlock your device:

• Go to Settings > Security > Fingerprint
• Confirm the security code or the pattern you have set 
• Tap Add fingerprint 
• Place any of your finger you wish to add on the Home/Menu button.
• Lift the finger after every scan in order for the sensor to capture your finger print untill it shows Fingerprint added!

You can import/export multiple contacts at once using the Sonim scout application

Follow the steps how to export contacts :

• Go to Main menu 
• Open Sonim scout application
• Tap Utilities > Contact Transfer
• You can choose the option via (Bluetooth, MDB, VCF or CSV) which you want to transfer contacts from your XP8

You can set up voicemail on XP8 by following steps 

• Open the Phone app.
• Tap on 3 dots at top right corner.
• Tap Settings > Speed dial settings > Voicemail > Setup > Voicemail number > Add your voicemail number > Tap OK to save.
• Once the set up is done you can press and hold the "1" key on the phone app to access voicemail.

Note : You need to contact your network operator for the voicemail number

Booting Into Safe Mode

• To reboot into safe mode XP8, long-press the power button until the power options menu appears.
• Long-press the Power Off option and you’ll be asked if you want to reboot your Android device into safe mode. Tap the OK button.

Troubleshooting in Safe Mode

• While in safe mode, the words “Safe Mode” will appear at the bottom of your screen.
• In safe mode, you’ll only have access to the apps that came with your device. Apps you’ve installed will be disabled and any widgets you’ve added to your home screens won’t be present. Try using your device normally after booting into safe mode. If your issue – freezing, rebooting, crashes, battery life issues, or bad performance – is solved in Safe Mode, the problem is with a third-party app you’ve installed.
• While apps are disabled, you can uninstall them normally. 
• Open the Settings screen> Tap Apps > Locate the app you want to uninstall, tap it, and tap the Uninstall button. if you’ve installed any apps recently, you should probably try uninstalling those apps first.
• After uninstalling the apps, you can try installing them one at a time to identify which app is causing you problems.
• If you’re experiencing major problems with your device, you may want to skip all the troubleshooting and restore your device to its factory default settings. You’ll lose all the data on your device – so make sure you have everything backed up – and you’ll have to reinstall any apps you’ve installed. To do this, open the Settings screen, tap Backup & reset, tap Factory data reset, and follow the instructions on your screen.
• To exit safe mode, restart your device normally. (Long-press the power button, select Power Off, and then long-press the power button again to turn it back on.) Your XP8phone will boot and load third-party software as normal.

There is a setting on XP8 using which users can block incoming calls/messages from specified numbers.

Follow the steps to block incoming Calls/Messages

• Open  Phone app 
• Tap 3 dots on top right corner 
• Tap Settings > Call screening > Tap on Screening incoming calls to check the options
• Tap on Manage black list > Add number(Phone number you want to block for calls/messages) 
• Once a number is entered and saved,you will not receive any calls or message from the number added to blacklist
• XP8 does not have different call and messages blocking settings. Blocking a number blocks both messages and calls from the saved number.

• XP8 does not support the 3.5mm jack headset or the earplugs
